Hydrogen Storage for Automobiles In collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Optowares is developing novel magnesium nano-particle composites encapsulated with atomically thin reduced graphene oxide for ground vehicle power applications. This innovative solid state hydrogen storage system will store hydrogen at room temperature and low pressures for user safely and reliability in automotive hydrogen fuel cell applications.
Flexible Solar Blankets Flexible solar cells are a promising technology for providing remote power for military applications while also remaining easily transportable. Optowares is working to improve the performance of these devices by developing highly conductive transparent contacts based on silver nanowires. This technology is being advanced utilizing Optowares’ Spray Assisted Layer-by-layer Assembly System (SPALAS) to deliver higher conversion efficiencies at lower costs.
