Our management team brings both technical and business expertise.

A US Navy veteran, Dr. Weimer has over 30 years of experience as an Analytical Chemist. Dr. Weimer was a research chemist for ten years at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake identifying reaction mechanisms on nonequilibrium thin film materials reactors including plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition of diamond and laser ablation deposition of high temperature superconductor materials. Dr. Weimer then spent 5 years with Texas Instruments/Raytheon where he developed low cost polymer optics for infrared imaging systems, including several military systems and the Cadillac Night Vision system. Dr. Weimer spent the next 2½ years as a senior research chemist and Group manager at Zyvex Corporation, where he developed ultrasensitive chemical detectors for real time monitoring of nanosynthesis. Dr. Weimer then founded US Detection Technologies where he was Chief Technology Officer and managed the development of ultrasensitive chemical detection systems. Dr. Weimer holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Wyoming, has published over 50 articles in scientific and technical journals, and is named as inventor on two patents and one pending. He has been an invited speaker at conferences for the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS), SPIE, Materials Research Society, LabAutomation, and SmallTalk and has served as a publication reviewer for Thin Solid Films, Analytical Chemistry, Diamond Materials, Journal of Materials Research, Applied Optics, Applied Spectroscopy, Journal of Physical Chemistry B, and Review of Scientific Instruments.

Wayne Weimer, Ph.D.

Dr. Yoon has over 15 years of experience in materials research and development. As a technical staff in Chemical, Biological, and Nanoscale Technologies group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory for over ten years, Dr. Yoon conducted research in various technical fields such as photonics, MEMS, and nanolithography. His project involvement included MEMS micro-turbine electrostatic generator, Ge waveguide-integrated detectors, silicon photonics components for the DARPA EPIC (Electronic and Photonic Integrated Circuits) program, NbN superconducting nanowire single photon detectors for free-space laser communications, and many others. NbN superconducting photon detectors were installed into the ground terminals for the NASA Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration carried out in 2013 that set the record for download and upload speed. He also served on DARPA Red Team as the energy expert evaluating energy generation and storage technologies. Dr. Yoon received Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and Ph.D. in Electronic Materials from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA.
